The teacher will be responsible for teaching English, Mathematics, and Science to Grade 5 students within the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP).
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) through transdisciplinary Units of Inquiry integrating English, Mathematics, and Science.
- Creating inquiry-based and student-centered learning experiences that promote student agency, voice, and choice.
- Assessing, monitoring, and documenting student progress using IB PYP assessment practices.
- Maintaining effective communication with parents through reports, conferences, and regular updates.
- Differentiating instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners.
- Fostering a positive classroom culture based on IB Learner Profile attributes and international-mindedness.
- Participating actively in school events, PYP exhibitions, field trips, assemblies, and professional development activities.
- Collaborating with colleagues in curriculum planning and school-wide initiatives.
- Conducting at least one home visit per student each term.
- Meeting families outside of school to strengthen school–parent partnerships.
- Supporting student academic progress, wellbeing, and character development through stronger family engagement.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor's Degree in Education or Elementary Education.
- Valid teaching qualification, such as PGCE, QTS, or equivalent.
- Native English speaker.
- Minimum 2 years of primary teaching experience in an international or bilingual school.
- IB PYP experience or training is strongly preferred.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Passionate about inquiry-based learning and student development.
- Comfortable building strong relationships with parents through regular home visits.
